About Thaddeus & Elbirda Underwood Family
Hi, my name is Linda and I am the daughter of Thaddeus & Elbirda Underwood. Our family thanks you for visiting our family site and hope you enjoy your tour.I would like to give just a brief introduction to our family.

Mama & Daddy were married November 15, 1943. They have a total of 11 children, 21 grandchildren and and as of today, March 25, 2011 they have 25 great grandchildren. For the majority of their life together Mama & Daddy chose to live in/around the Putnam County, Algood, TN area to raise their family. However we also have family members in Smith, White, & Warren counties in TN and also in the Biloxi/Gulfport Mississippi area.

Mama & Daddy still live in Algood, TN and after 65 years of marriage have committed to taking care of each other until death parts. Daddy has committed the last 2 years solely to caring for Mama as she has been in bad health. Mama has Dementia/Alzheimer's but will always have a smile for Daddy and always knows him by sight and by name. Their dedication to one another speaks volumes of love which leads to the dedication and commitment they have for each other.

Updated Oct 25, 2009: On October 2, 2009 Mama went home to be with Jesus. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel but we know that she is resting in the arms of Jesus and with our brother, Grady. We will miss her greatly but we know she is not suffering anymore and is at peace.

On September 13, 2008 our family received the worst blow we have ever had to encounter. Grady, our 3rd oldest son/brother was killed in a tragic accident on his farm. His wife,Anita, witnessed the accident and was able to care for him and be with him until he was taken away by medical personnel. By the time they left with him he was unconscious so I feel that since Anita was with him up until that point he did not die alone. I am so thankful that God allowed the last few minutes for them to be together. This is Mama & Daddy's first child and our first sibling to lose. We were shocked, devastated and thrown into a world that we had never experienced before. Each day we say our blessings for God's love and peace that he gives us to endure our trials and tribulations.

We welcome any additional information, feedback or comments that you may have. Please be sure and sign our guest book as we are always eager to hear from people. Please feel free to contact via my email.
